After completing her medical degree, she began her neurosurgery residency at the University of Innsbruck in Austria.
She soon made significant contributions to neurosurgery by developing new techniques for repairing damage to the brain and spinal cord. One of her most notable innovations was the use of microsurgical techniques to repair large areas of brain damage.
She has also played a key role in developing new treatments for these diseases.
